A Legacy Rooted in QualityThe journey of Birbal Dry Fruits began in the 1940s
The journey of Birbal Dry Fruits began in the 1940s, when our forefathers ran a small kirana (grocery) shop in Sindh, Pakistan — long before India’s independence. After partition, Shri Krishan Lal started over as a street hawker in Panipat and Delhi, carrying forward simple but powerful values: work hard, stay honest, and serve with sincerity.
Over time, his dedication helped him open a small 7-gaj shop, planting the seeds of what would become our family business. In 1974, his son Mr. Jaipal Narula joined him, eventually expanding into a larger 14-gaj shop. By 1997, two brothers — Jaipal Narula and Surender Pal Narula — came together, acquiring a 90-gaj shop and officially founding the Birbal brand.
The name Birbal reflects the qualities we believe in — intelligence, strength, and integrity — inspired by the legendary advisor in Akbar’s court, and also standing for "2 Veero Ka Bal" (the strength of two brothers).
With the launch of our own premium dry fruits, spices, and pulses, and the introduction of branded packaging, we set out to deliver superior quality directly to our customers. In 2017, the store was renovated to better serve a growing community who trusted Birbal for their everyday essentials.
In 2024, building on decades of trust, we proudly opened our second store — Birbal Dry Fruits & More. This new space brings together all our key categories under one roof in a thoughtfully curated format, making it easier for customers to access the finest products quickly and conveniently.
We also introduced on-the-go order services and home deliveries, ensuring that Birbal’s commitment to quality now comes with even greater ease and accessibility. Every milestone reminds us that while we continue to grow, our foundation of honesty, hard work, and customer-first service remains unchanged.
